Auckland Investors Do Well In The Provinces

PropertyMasters wgnCashed up Auckland property investors are seeking bargains in the nearby provinces. Regions like Waikato and Bay of Plenty are reaping the rewards of the RBNZ 70% LVR restriction on Auckland rental properties.

To acquire an investment property in Auckland you must cough up a thirty percent deposit whereas rental properties in the provinces may only require a ten percent deposit. The RBNZ is pulling the strings to great effect. They set the rules and the response has been positive though not to everyone’s delight.

The regions near Auckland are now seeing good growth in property sales and values. In July Bay of Plenty’s property values were up 12 percent since the same time last year. In August it was Waikato – Hauraki’s turn with their property values up by 16 percent.

Wellingtonians would love a bit of that love in their region. In July property values decreased by 0.2 percent since a year earlier. Arguably it’s ripe for the picking and Auckland investors will probably realise it – before it’s too late.
